How does Campaigns help combat bots and click fraud?

With Campaigns there are two big goals – ignoring “bots” that end up on your site so they don’t mess up your stats, and preventing bots, competitors and “click happy” users from being able to click your ads in the first place.

The first goal is achieved automatically when you add the Campaigns tracking code to your web pages ...

Because our tracking is designed in a way that most bots simply can’t generate “clicks” to your Campaigns Projects.

And just about all of the more advanced bots that are able to generate clicks to your Campaigns Projects are handled by our click auditing system, which you can learn more about in the article below:

How does ClickMagick’s click auditing system work?

In short, clicks that appear to be from “bots,” search engine spiders, or “web servers” are automatically separated from your normal clicks so they don’t mess up the accuracy of your stats.

These are labeled as “Flagged Clicks” and you can view them in your click logs at any time …

And that leaves just a tiny number of very advanced bots, competitors and “click happy” users to deal with – and that’s exactly what Click Shield does. To learn more about Click Shield, please see the article below …
